The Senior Accountant will be involved in month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities, including preparing the appropriate audit work papers, maintaining financial reports in compliance with SOX, creating reports analyzing financial company performance, analyzing and reporting on financial results, adhering to company internal controls and assisting in mentoring and professional development of staff accountants.
Essential Functions
Prepare financial statements and have significant involvement in monthly close.
Research current/recent GAAP pronouncements and advise management of relevant accounting changes.
Prepare and provide detail for monthly/quarterly/annual financial reporting and footnotes.
Prepare and maintain departmental cost center reports and hold monthly meetings with various company department heads to discuss actual vs. budget performance, thereby providing exposure to many areas of company management.
Prepare and maintain monthly general ledger balance sheet reconciliations for areas of responsibility.
Prepare General Journal entries.
Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (Required or Preferred)
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required. CPA preferred.
Work Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in the accounting field required. CPA preferred.
Perform other special projects for submission to and review by upper management.
Able to interpret information from multiple sources to make decisions.
Thinks through advantages and disadvantages of a situation before making a decision.
Possesses strong sense of urgency (makes it happen).
Able to focus individual and team efforts on achieving results.
Identifies what needs to be done and does it before being asked or required by the situation.
Commits to results and maintains commitment, regardless of obstacles.

Manual dexterity to perform responsibilities, such as typing on a computer.
Ability to perform sedentary work.
