The Sales Manager assists the Store Manager in operating a David's Bridal retail store by focusing primarily on floor management to ensure an exceptional customer service experience for each bride by consistently reviewing and training associates on Customer Relationship Management to drive the business.

Sales Manager Responsibilities:

Two years prior retail experience, preferably in a supervisory role, in an apparel or specialty store environment


The Sales Manager assists the Store Manager in operating a David’s Bridal retail store by focusing primarily on floor management to ensure an A+ customer service experience for each customer and by consistently reviewing, training and coaching sales stylists to drive the business, meeting sales per hour and bridal conversion goals.  The Sales Manager leads communication and execution of the visual merchandising plan and all promotions and contests. The Sales Manager leads the partnership program and bridal show outreach and initiatives under the direction of the Store Manager. The Sales manager is a key holder and will be responsible for opening or closing the store and the accompanying duties assigned to that task.  He/she champions David’s Bridal values of inclusion, authenticity and empowerment, and creates a culture of trust, sincerity and thoughtfulness with our associates and customers.



Make Plan

  • Executes sales plans consistently in partnership with Store Manager and by following the Five Steps of Leadership
  • Acts as a sales leader, coach and role model to Stylists through floor management
  • Role models and is committed to sales leadership of the Stylists by:
    1. Driving sales and customer service through constant floor management to develop selling skills and recognize great performance.
    2. Communicating daily sales goals to all associates and driving action through Chat Ins/Chat Outs and Winners’ Circle
    3. Monitoring individual associate performance and developing action plans for improvement through weekly performance discussions using the Associate Dashboard
  • Leading and inspiring Stylists to exceed a sales productivity
  • Coaching to achieve dollar per bride through quality selling techniques
  • Coaching the team to achieve bridal conversion
  • Drives sales through the Five Key Sales Drivers on a daily basis
  • Coaching the team to complete the sale on the first visit

Build Winning Teams

  • Partners with the Store Manager to execute strategies to build, develop, and retain winning teams
  •  Supports an environment focused on training, retention and reward/recognition
  • Regularly encourages and develops Stylists
  • Solicits feedback from Stylists that enhances business and increases sales and creates a culture of continuous improvement
  • Participates in recruiting efforts through talent/new hire recommendations as directed by the Store Manager
  • Executes effective training programs for all Stylists
  • Partners with Store Manager in developing employees to their full potential through coaching and training
  • Monitors and assesses training completion status of team to ensure each associate has the training they need to be successful
  • Monitors all employee issues and partners with Store Manager to determine action plans and performance management strategy
  • Creates a culture of inspiration by recognizing strong performance and celebrating achievements of Stylists
  •  Provides all associates with good working conditions and the personal respect each associate deserves

A+ Customer Service

  • Executes customer service strategies to deliver an A+ customer experience
  • Partners with Store Manager and Contact Center to resolve customer issues when needed
  • Executes customer service expectations set by Store Manager and holds team accountable to achieve New Brand and “Willingness to Recommend” goals
  • Trains and certifies all bridal show representatives to represent David’s Bridal
  • Trains staff on David’s Bridal Partnership Program to maximize sales

Manage Expenses

  • Supports achievement of all expense budgets including payroll, shrink and travel
  • Monitors timely completion of assigned tasks in Task Management
  • Monitors Stylist payroll and recommends schedule changes to the Store Manager
  • Partners with the Store Manager to ensure that Stylist payroll does not exceed monthly budget
  • Executes effective scheduling practices to maximize sales and customer service
  • Completes all action plans on a quarterly basis with Store Manager
  • Executes all aspects of operational controls flawlessly
