The ideal candidate has deep experience architecting complex ecosystems across commerce, retail operations, data platforms, digital engagement, and enterprise systems.
Key Responsibilities

- Own and evolve architectural governance processes, technology standards, reference architectures, and documentation.
- Lead architecture oversight for major programs including digital commerce (Shopify), ERP modernization, CRM evolution, data platform modernization, BI/analytics lifecycle, and cloud adoption.
- Evaluate and approve new technologies, vendor solutions, integrations, and modernization initiatives based on scalability, cost, alignment, and future-state direction.
- Partner with product, engineering, and leadership teams to translate requirements into high-level and detailed technical design.
- Provide architectural leadership in platform evolution including composable architecture, microservices, APIs, event-driven systems, and cloud infrastructure.
- Serve as a technical advisor to senior leadership on technology investments, system interdependencies, and risk management.
- Mentor engineering and architecture talent, fostering consistency, reusability, and best practices across teams.
Core Requirements
- 8–12+ years of architecture or senior technical leadership experience, ideally in enterprise retail or multi-channel commerce environments.
- Strong background designing and integrating large-scale systems including:
- Shopify or enterprise eCommerce platforms
- CRM, ERP, OMS, POS, and fulfillment systems
- Data platforms (Snowflake, SQL Server, Power BI ecosystem)
- Proven expertise with modern architecture patterns:
- API-first / microservices
- Event-driven or pub/sub integration
- Cloud architecture (Azure or AWS preferred)
- Composable or MACH frameworks strongly beneficial
- Experience developing architecture governance models, standards, and architecture roadmaps.
- Strong understanding of privacy, regulatory compliance, identity management, and security frameworks (SOC2, PCI, GDPR, CCPA).
- Demonstrated ability to evaluate vendor platforms, make build-vs-buy decisions, and lead enterprise technology selection.
Preferred Experience
- Experience modernizing legacy or monolithic retail environments to cloud-first, API-driven models.
- Familiarity with DevOps, CI/CD, secure SDLC, observability, and automation frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise integration platforms (e.g., MuleSoft, Boomi, Azure Integration Services, or equivalent)
- Business architecture knowledge including process mapping, enterprise capability modeling, and operational workflow design.
Who You Are
- A strategic thinker with the ability to operate hands-on when needed.
- A strong communicator capable of influencing executives, engineers, and business teams.
- Able to simplify complex systems into actionable, scalable architecture.
- Focused on business outcomes—not just technical correctness.
