The Field Support Manager travels to David’s Bridal stores when a Store Manager position is open or the management team is incomplete. The role provides leadership coverage, restores store performance and operating routines before a new leader begins, supports leadership training in the field, and delivers assigned financial expectations. Assignments vary by market and business need. Leave-of-absence coverage remains with the separate Special Assignment Manager leave-coverage positions.

Essential Job Functions

Field Assignments and Store Recovery
• Assume day-to-day leadership of assigned stores during Store Manager vacancies or significant management gaps and deliver assigned financial expectations.
• Assess guest service, sales, staffing, scheduling, inventory, and operating routines; establish priorities with field leadership.
• Coach team members, address missed expectations and restore dependable store routines before an incoming Store Manager begins.
• Partner with Regional Directors and DVPs, People Partners, and support teams; communicate results, risks, and assistance needed.
• Train and support incoming Store Managers in store operations, leadership practices, performance expectations, and company tools.
• Provide a documented handoff of team strengths, current priorities, open issues, and progress at the end of each assignment.

When Covering a Store Manager Position
• Build and retain a high-performing team, model a guest-first culture, and deliver consistent five-star guest experience.
• Lead the store toward sales plan and blended conversion goals across front-of-house and alterations through daily direction and performance coaching.
• Hold the leadership team accountable for active floor management, shift assignments, results review, and feedback. Coach selling skills, behaviors, and processes.
• Manage store payroll within the monthly budget; monitor schedules and accurately review and acknowledge time records for scheduled shifts, breaks, and meals.
• Communicate daily sales goals. Review individual performance, and guest reviews, to use during weekly discussions and action plans to improve results.
• Oversee inventory management, special orders, receiving, layaway, mark-out of stock, repairs, and first-quality merchandise standards.
• Maintain staffing plans, develop a bench of talent, and partner with People Partners to fill store leadership and team openings promptly.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Education and Experience
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least four years of retail management experience in an apparel or specialty store environment.
• Experience using a computerized point-of-sale system.
• Strong coaching, decision-making, communication, and store performance management skills.

Work Hours, Travel, and Physical Demands
This is a full-time role, generally 40 hours per week, with a schedule that may fall Sunday through Saturday and include evenings, weekends, and peak retail periods. Frequent travel to different store locations is required. Business travel expenses are handled under company policy.  While performing this job, the dream maker may be required to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and speak with and hear guests and team members. The dream maker must occasionally lift up to 25 pounds. The role requires close and distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to read and use computers and other electronic devices for extended periods.  The duties above describe the general nature of the position and may change as business needs evolve.
