The Senior Manager, Merchandising Analytics leads the analytical engine behind merchandising and planning decisions, transforming performance data into a clear, forward-looking point of view that shapes assortment, pricing, inventory and financial strategy. This role owns the design and delivery of executive-level reporting, drives the analytical rigor behind weekly, monthly and long-range planning, and partners across Merchandising, Planning, Marketing and Finance to turn insight into profitable action across channels.

Channel Scope:  Responsibility spans seven key routes to market — Bricks, Ecom, Dropship, Consignment/Shop-in-Shop, Store-in-Store, Marketplace and Wholesale — with reporting, analytics and forecasting purpose-built to each channel’s economics, customer and role.

BUSINESS INSIGHT & STRATEGY

  • Own the analytical point of view. Translate sales, margin, inventory and customer data into a clear, well-reasoned point of view, surfacing risks and opportunities before they show up in the P&L.
  • Inform the strategy. Partner with Merchandising and Planning leadership to shape category, channel and pricing strategy with data-backed recommendations that meet or exceed sales and margin targets.
  • Competitive & consumer intelligence. Lead competitive benchmarking, price architecture and market analysis, integrating consumer, macroeconomic and trend signals into the merchandising point of view.
  • Executive communication. Distill complex analysis into concise, executive-ready narratives, dashboards and shareouts that drive decisions in buying and cross-functional forums.

REPORTING, ANALYTICS & PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Own the reporting cadence. Design and deliver the weekly, monthly and fiscal-close reporting suite — WTD / MTD / QTD actuals versus plan, category and channel splits, and volume/price bridge decompositions.
  • Build the infrastructure. Develop and maintain scalable reporting tools, dashboards and data models that give the business consistent, trusted visibility across all channels.
  • Decompose the drivers. Diagnose performance through disciplined AUR, sell-through, mix and margin analysis, isolating true business signal from measurement or integration noise.
  • Assortment & Pareto analysis. Lead assortment productivity and Pareto analysis to separate volume-driving winners from unproductive tail, expose gaps and redundancy, and benchmark assortment breadth and depth against sell-through and turn targets.
  • Standardize & scale. Formalize analytical SOPs and reporting standards so outputs are accurate, repeatable and efficient across the team.

FINANCIAL PLANNING & FORECASTING

  • Open-to-buy support. Partner with Planning on OTB management, receipt and inventory-productivity analysis, and markdown and liquidation modeling across all seven channels.
  • Model the business. Build and maintain pricing, margin and scenario models that quantify the impact of strategic decisions before they are made.
  • Spearhead the inventory read-out. Own the recurring inventory read-out — pairing performance KPIs and assortment benchmarks against store and DC capacity and store-presentation requirements — and partner cross-functionally with the Head of Visual Presentation to maintain optimum in-store inventory levels that meet turn targets without sacrificing sales.

TEAM & CROSS-FUNCTIONAL LEADERSHIP

  • Lead & develop the team. Manage, coach and develop analysts, building analytical capability and confidence across the group.
  • Partner broadly. Serve as the analytical connective tissue across Merchandising, Planning, Marketing, Finance and Strategy, ensuring one consistent source of truth.
  • Elevate the function. Advance the team’s maturity from descriptive reporting toward predictive and prescriptive insight, championing better tools, data and processes.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a quantitative, business or analytical field plus 5+ years of related merchandise planning, analytics or FP&A experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Demonstrated command of retail merchandising fundamentals — OTB, AUR, sell-through, margin, channel mix and fiscal-calendar reporting; multi-channel or omnichannel experience strongly preferred.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint with experience building executive-level reporting; familiarity with BI and reporting platforms such as Tableau and with replenishment and allocation systems; adept at leveraging AI tools such as Claude to drive efficiency, accelerate analysis and elevate decision-making.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Regular store visits as needed.
