Lead Paid Media Strategy That Drives Growth
We’re looking for a Head of Paid Media and Optimization to own high-impact, ROI-driven campaigns across digital and traditional channels. This role requires deep media buying and demand generation expertise, hands-on knowledge of Meta, Google, TikTok ad networks, and the ability to evaluate performance through analytics. You’ll partner with agencies and internal teams to deliver integrated campaigns that fuel awareness, acquisition, and revenue. Ideal candidates bring agency experience with client-side exposure, strong analytical skills, and proven leadership across cross-functional teams.
 
Remote role with preference for Eastern or Central time zones.

The Head of Paid Media and Optimization drives data-informed, ROI-focused marketing strategies across paid that fuels awareness, consideration, traffic, and long-term growth to acquire new customers, increase engagement, and maximize revenue across all paid channels. This leader oversees paid media strategy, cross-channel integration, and top-of-funnel growth, while collaborating closely with agencies and internal marketing and creative teams to deliver consistent monthly and quarterly campaigns.

This role sits at the intersection of performance rigor and brand building, ensuring top-of-funnel initiatives are planned, activated, and optimized across digital, traditional, owned, and partner channels. The position will focus on performance rigor at scale, while delegating analytics execution to specialized teams, enabling focus on strategy, media investment, and cross-channel optimization.

 

Key Responsibilities

Paid Media Strategy & Execution Oversight

  • Own the strategy and execution of all paid media campaigns, including digital, social, programmatic, display, paid search, paid social, connected TV, audio, and traditional media channels.
  • Set channel-level budgets, pacing, and investment priorities to maximize ROI, acquisition, and top-of-funnel growth.
  • Partner with agencies and internal teams to develop creative, messaging, and targeting strategies that drive measurable results.
  • Establish frameworks for testing and optimization across channels, leveraging insights from analytics teams to improve media effectiveness.

Top-of-Funnel Growth & Campaign Planning

  • Lead monthly and quarterly top-of-funnel planning, including internal original programming, seasonal campaigns, and brand partnership activations.
  • Ensure consistent alignment across cross-functional teams—brand, content, social, PR, CRM, site, and stores—to maximize reach and impact.
  • Prioritize high-impact campaigns and opportunities, balancing long-term growth initiatives with immediate performance needs.

Agency & Partner Leadership

  • Serve as the primary strategic lead for agency partner across paid media and partnerships.
  • Drive agency accountability and execution excellence, ensuring campaigns meet performance goals and brand standards.
  • Identify and activate co-marketing and partnership opportunities that expand reach and enhance campaign performance.

Cross-Functional Collaboration & Alignment

  • Partner with Marketing, Creative, Insights and Merchandising teams to ensure campaigns are grounded in data, aligned with business priorities, and optimized for ROI.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure media creative, messaging, and timing are aligned across all channels.
  • Guide senior leadership on investment allocation, pacing, and expected returns from paid media initiatives.

Performance Management & Optimization

  • Define high-level KPIs for paid media campaigns and top-of-funnel initiatives; monitor results and make strategic recommendations for optimization.
  • Translate analytics and insights into actionable strategic decisions, while junior and specialist teams manage reporting and data modeling.
  • Continuously refine media strategy to improve efficiency, maximize reach, and drive revenue growth.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred in Marketing, Business, or related field

Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in performance marketing, paid media strategy, or digital acquisition roles; ideally media buying/planning experience at an agency and or on the client side
  • Proven track record managing large-scale paid media campaigns and multi-channel budgets
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and agency partners to deliver high-impact campaigns
  • Strong knowledge of digital and traditional media channels, including programmatic, paid social, search, CTV, audio, OOH, and experiential

 

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong strategic and analytical mindset with focus on ROI and campaign optimization
  • Expertise in paid media platforms, measurement frameworks, and attribution models
  • Exceptional ability to lead agencies and internal teams, set priorities, and influence senior stakeholders
  • Experience planning and executing monthly and quarterly integrated campaign calendars
  • Clear communication, executive presence, and ability to translate complex performance data into actionable strategy
