The Director of Supply Chain Systems & Logistics is responsible for leading and optimizing the retail company’s end-to-end supply chain operations, ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance across vendor relationships, distribution center management, and logistics strategy. This role plays a critical part in enhancing operational performance, driving continuous improvement, and maintaining high safety and quality standards. The director oversees training and development programs for the DC workforce, ensures adherence to safety regulations, manages quality control for new products, and oversees repair and restock processes for returns—all while leveraging data-driven strategies to enhance overall supply chain effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

Supply Chain Systems & Logistics

  • Develop and implement strategic supply chain initiatives to optimize efficiency.
  • Oversee logistics operations, including transportation, warehousing, and inventory management.
  • Leverage data analytics to improve demand forecasting and cost control.

Vendor Compliance

  • Establish and enforce vendor standards to ensure timely, accurate deliveries.
  • Conduct performance audits and collaborate on improving compliance metrics.
  • Optimize vendor relationships to enhance supply chain transparency.

DC Operations

  • Manage distribution center operations, ensuring efficient inbound and outbound logistics.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance productivity and cost savings.
  • Oversee warehouse management systems and automation technologies.

Training & Development

  • Develop and implement training programs to enhance operational excellence.
  • Ensure employees receive ongoing education in logistics, systems, and safety practices.
  • Foster leadership development and workforce upskilling initiatives.

Safety & Compliance

  • Ensure adherence to workplace safety regulations and OSHA standards.
  • Promote a culture of safety with proactive risk management and incident prevention.
  • Implement health and safety audits to maintain compliance and employee well-being.

Quality Control & Returns Management

  • Oversee quality control processes for new product launches, ensuring alignment with company standards.
  • Implement inspection procedures to validate product integrity before distribution.
  • Manage repair and restock operations for returned merchandise, optimizing turnaround time and minimizing waste.
  • Collaborate with teams to enhance reverse logistics strategies for returned products.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or Quality Assurance.
  • Experience: 5+ years experience, proven track record in supply chain operations, vendor compliance, distribution center management, and quality control.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in ERP systems, WMS, training platforms, quality control systems, and data analytics.
  • Leadership: Strong ability to develop teams, mentor employees, and drive strategic initiatives.
