Human Resource Service Specialist 535

An integral member of the HR Service Center team, the HR Service Specialist processes transactions, solves problems and provides administrative support to the internal HR professionals and team members of the company. They run HR transactions in the HRIS (Human Resource Information Systems) to help save team members and HR professionals time and effort so that they can focus on performance and business results. The Specialist plays a significant role in developing positive business culture and improving employee engagement and productivity, through offering excellent customer service and directing team members to self-service resources.

Essential Functions:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact by providing first level response to HR related questions submitted to HR mailbox (or via phone) by David’s Bridal team members.
  • Provide excellent customer service to David’s Bridal employees and managers by answering day to day questions in a timely and accurate manner. Ensure service delivery agreements (turnaround times for responses and resolutions) are met.
  • Escalate team member questions and/or issues to the appropriate HR team members when necessary.
  • Help support the leave of absence (LOA) process, by directing employees to our leave administration partner and by answering basic questions surrounding company pay practices for approved LOA’s. Request and approve appropriate requests or paperwork, approve/deny based on company policy and federal regulations, and process in HRIS System. Enter pay into timesheets as needed. 
  • Facilitate new employee orientation, new employee data entry, verification requirements and on-boarding.
  • Assist HR Service Center Manager with compiling and sending HR weekly communications as needed.
  • Ensure timely delivery of team member service awards; run reports identifying promotions and anniversaries.
  • Input employee changes and termination information into the HR information system. Correct information as needed to ensure data integrity. Perform weekly audits.
  • Serve as the primary owner of creating, receiving and processing invoices for the HR department. Track payments to ensure timely payment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from a four-year college preferred.
  • SHRM Certification is a plus.

 Work Experience:

  • 2 – 4 years in a similar role.

Skills:

  • Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and as a member of the Human Resources Team.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
