Purpose: 
The Facility Technician - DC is responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment which may include a variation of forklifts, conveyors and other warehouse power equipment to ensure availability and safe operation.   In addition, the Facility Technician is an electrician able to perform electrical work in both distribution centers.

Essential Functions
  • Performs skilled maintenance and advanced repairs on all equipment such as forklifts, conveyors and other warehouse power equipment by conducting emergency/scheduled repair, conducting preventive maintenance to all equipment as scheduled and conducting a daily inspection of the facility to identity equipment that require service; responsible for inspection and evaluation of all mechanical aspects of the building50%
  • Perform a variety of plumbing maintenance and carpentry functions5%
  • Maintain accurate records of all completed maintenance repairs according to Company standards and OSHA regulations 10%
  • Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and repair 5%
  • Communicate daily with the DC Facility Manager regarding repairs, visit by vendors and feedback of the daily inspection performed by the associate 10%
  • Respond to all service calls by the distribution center management team in a timely manner and maintain a safe and clean work environment by maintaining workstations neat and clean, complying with safety procedures, rules and wearing PPE such as harness when driving a forklift, hard hats, gloves, back belts, etc10%
  • Perform skilled electrical work on equipment and facility as required for the DC  10%
Education: One-year certificate from college or technical school Required; a degree in mechanical, electrical or industrial maintenance strongly preferred

Licenses / Certifications / Training: Certified Electrician License required. Certification to work on all types of forklift equipment required.

Years of related experience: 5 - 10 years

Required skills & abilities: Ability to maintain and repair all warehouse equipment, plumbing, electrical. Ability to complete carpentry needs. 

Other Requirements: 3 years related experience in manufacturing; strong hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical and industrial skills required. Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) and HVAC a plus.

Physical Requirements
Ability to use mechanical tools to repair machinery and equipment.

  • Ability to balance, bend, kneel, squat, and reach
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to move throughout the distribution center (The distribution centers are not temperature controlled. Ability to work in a hot environment in the summertime and cold environment in the wintertime.)
  • Ability to travel by car, rail or air
