Senior Accountant Income Tax

 

The Senior Accountant Income Tax will assist in the preparation of corporate federal, state, and local income tax, and franchise tax returns for the company’s U.S and International entities.  Assist in the preparation of the annual income tax provision for the company’s U.S. and international entities.  In addition, the Senior Accountant Income Tax will be engaged with the day-to-day relationship and will coordinate with our contracted third-party tax management, preparation, and compliance provider.

 

Essential Functions:

 

  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax returns, including federal and international, state and local income and franchise, for the company’s U.S. and International tax filings including global tax calendar. 
  • File extensions as needed.  Complete tax liability account reconciliations to the general ledger and book adjusting entries as assigned.
  • Prepare income tax provision.
  • Perform tax technical and detail calculations.
  • Perform detailed tax research and documentation.
  • Preparation of disclosures for the consolidated year-end and quarterly financial statements, as applicable.
  • Exposure to cross border transfer pricing with foreign subsidiaries, including contemporaneous documentation, calculations, local country reporting requirements, as well as any OECD requirements as applicable.
  • Collaboration and coordination with U.S. and international outside consultants for facilitating information requests. Respond to federal, international, state, local, and income/franchise tax notices and audit requests.  Provide information to reach a favorable resolution.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of improved processes to minimize tax risk, ensure enhanced controls, and increased accuracy of all tax provision and compliance filings.  Ensure documentation supporting tax returns, tax provision, controls and other supporting work papers are completed in an organized format for both electronic and hard-copy retrieval.
  • Assist in annual planning and budget development and relationship management with internal and external resources.
  • Assist with tax fixed assets and assigned lives and related controls to ensure accuracy of tax depreciation and the calculation of deferred tax assets as assigned.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant legislation for U.S. and international operations.
  • Complete special projects as assigned. Perform tax research and assist with tax planning related to special projects and business transactions and reorganizations
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Education:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.

CPA Preferred.

 

Work Experience:

 

2-5 years experience in Tax Accounting required

Experience in the retail and/or hospitality industry preferred.

 

Skills and Abilities:

 

Attention to detail, time management, project management, technical learner, and problem solving.

 

Travel Requirements:

Minimal Travel Required (1 – 2 times per year)
