The Director, Marketing Performance provides leadership and development around all major performance KPIs which drive marketing, promo efficiency, corporate achievement, and customer segmentation. Demonstrates extraordinary communication skills centered around ‘snackable insights’ (hyper-actionable).  Leadership of all financial and quantitative measures which drive overall efficacy in spend and investment. 


Essential Functions:

  • Works with key stakeholders across all marketing functions to drive ROI on marketing investments based on key KPIs.
  • Manages both quantitative and qualitative research regarding consumer, brand & market insights to find new ways to make spend more productive. Works with customer segmentation team on customer clusters "clustomers" and associated insights to drive additional productivity and grow DB sales.
  • Culls through tons of data to identify easily digestible “snackable” insights; turns insights into actions to improve business performance.
  • Owns allocation of paid media budget and spend to maximize customer engagement and traffic; in partnership with merchandise planning, works to optimize investments (both marketing dollars, organic strategies, and markdown/discount dollars); with a focus on topline and margin.
  • Leads creation of financial modeling including assumptions and key KPI’s for all marketing strategies and programs (i.e. Diamond Loyalty Program and Pearl Marketplace). Post launch, continue to measure program performance, identify risks and opportunities and provide recommendations to optimize program success.
  • Determines necessary pace of improvement in performance across wide range of targets and standards, inclusive of setting appropriate milestones to be delivered; will play a leading part in identification of organic and non-organic business opportunities which improve EBITDA.
  • Owns relationships with external agencies to optimize campaigns and analyze performance.

Qualifications – Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (required or preferred):



    • Master’s Degree preferred in business related or technical field such as Finance, Accounting, Marketing, BA, or related field.  Equivalent work experience will be considered.

Years of Related Experience:

    • 5+ years’ experience working in performance marketing position in business with past paced and dynamic market environment,

Required Skills & Abilities:

    • Must have proven and successful track record of leading a cross functional team, achieving challenging targets and standards.
    • Ability to identify opportunities and points of improvement in performance marketing department and setting up measures to deliver solutions to effectively address poor performance and maximize on the successful delivery of departmental objectives.
    • Must portray keen interest in ability to conduct research and analyses on large and complex data sets to realize appropriate strategies and solutions for programs and campaigns. 
    • Demonstrable experience in designing, leading and implementing successful digital marketing and paid media campaigns.
    • Strong understanding of how digital marketing channels’ function

Travel Requirements: 

    •  Minimal travel - 1-2x per year

Other Requirements:

    • Understanding of SEO/SEM strategies, analytical tools such as Google Analytics and SQL; capacity to conceptualize, execute, and optimize complex paid media acquisition programs and also have substantial data modeling, financial, and/or statistical skills.
