The Manager Global Tax is responsible for managing the preparation, review and filing of corporate federal, state, and local income tax, and franchise tax returns for the company’s U.S and International entities.  Responsible for preparation and review of annual income tax provision for the company’s U.S. and international entities.  In addition, the Manager, Global Tax will be responsible for indirect tax returns, including sales and other taxes, audits and other duties as required, and will manage the day-to-day relationship and will coordinate with our contracted third-party tax management, preparation, and compliance provider.

Essential Functions:

  • Manage/lead the process and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual income tax returns, including federal and international, state and local income and franchise, for the company’s U.S. and International tax filings including global tax calendar.  
  • Manage/lead the process and preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual indirect tax returns.
  • File extensions as needed.  Review tax liability accounts in general ledger and approve adjusting entries as assigned.
  • Oversee income tax provision process including preparation and review of U.S. Federal, state, and international tax packages.
  • Responsible for performance management of one senior tax employee direct report
  • Perform and review tax technical and detail calculations.
  • Perform detail tax research and documentation.
  • Oversee preparation and review of disclosures for the consolidated year-end and quarterly financial statements, as applicable.
  • Manage cross border transfer pricing with foreign subsidiaries, including contemporaneous documentation, calculations, local country reporting requirements, as well as any OECD requirements as applicable.
  • Manage U.S. and international outside consultants by coordinating and communicating project timelines for completion, facilitating information requests, and reviewing and approving prepared returns/documents. Respond to and manage federal, international, state, local, income/franchise tax notices and audit requests.  Provide information, discuss concerns and negotiate to reach a favorable resolution.
  • Proactively develop and implement improved processes to minimize tax risk, ensure enhanced controls, and increased accuracy of all tax provision and compliance filings.  Ensure documentation supporting tax returns, tax provision, controls and other supporting work papers are developed in an organized format for both electronic and hard-copy retrieval.
  • Manage and assist in annual planning and budget development and relationship management with internal and external resources.
  • Comprehensively manage tax fixed assets and assigned lives and related controls to ensure accuracy of tax depreciation and the calculation of deferred assets as assigned.
  • Monitor and analyze relevant legislation for U.S. and international operations.
  • Lead special projects as assigned. Perform tax research and assist with tax planning related to special projects and business transactions and reorganizations
  • Other duties as assigned.



  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
  • CPA required.


Work Experience:

  • 10 plus years’ experience in Tax Accounting required
  • Experience in the retail and/or hospitality industry preferred.


Skills and Abilities:

  • Attention to detail, time management, project management, technical learner, and problem solving.


Travel Requirements:


  • Minimal Travel Required (1 – 2 times per year)
